We’ve had an amazing 2015 so far at Arcus Animation, and we decided it was high time we updated you on what we’re up to.
We’ve launched our new website with a slicker, prettier interface and loads of new features. Visit arcusstudios.co.uk (or click ‘Home’, above) to check out our latest animations, videos, illustrations and installations. The most exciting update is this lovely new blog that you’re looking at right now! We’ll be using this outlet to tell you all our latest news, tell you about things we love and share our animation tips with tutorial articles and videos. Thanks to Malik at Laughing Beards for his elite web design skills.
Our year kicked off with a huge investment boost from the lovely folks at Northstar Ventures. Their expertise and advice has been invaluable in managing the expansion of our operation,
whilst their funding has allowed us to purchase new equipment, new software, hire some awesome new talent and adopt a few exotic pets. Check out bdaily’s article about our collaboration.
Our company keeps growing and there’s loads of new faces in the studio. Alex has rocked up and brought her stunning illustration and design skills, Tom has arrived fresh from a stint at King Rollo Films and is gracing us with his character animation knowledge, and we’ve drafted Miguel into the fold to take care of our communications and clerical needs. We’ll be running blog posts on all the new faces over the coming weeks.
Miguel, who lives in Heaton, said:
“It’s been a joy to join the team at such an exciting time. Work is flooding in for Arcus and managing a business with such a rapid rate of growth is a tricky thing. I’m glad that my organisational experience is helping to make the process as smooth as possible. The only obstacle we now face is that we’re running out of chairs!”
Our work on Superglad continues, we’re providing our character animation expertise to this fantastic new adventure game from our pals at Coatsink Software. Check out the Demo Footage that was released in the spring. We can’t wait to play it! Also check out the trailer we put together for Coatsink’s Oculus Rift game: Esper. We’ve had a cheeky sneak peek at this one and it’s easy to see why it was turning heads at E3 in June!
Among all this we’ve still managed to get our party on. In July we invaded the Children’s Media Conference, enjoying beers and chinwags with other UK studios, and in August we’ll be celebrating our fifth birthday, which we’re planning something special for. Five years of Animation with Character! Where does the time go? So check back for more news soon!
